Welcome at the Chair
In what ways do economic regions develop, especially technology regions, and why are economic structures, functions and processes created? How do corperate actors and those from other organizations collaborate? What kind of promotion approaches promise to be successful (e.g. cluster) and how can the results be evaluated?
These and other questions in the field of spatial analysis, praxis-oriented conceptualization and evaluation of spatial promotion measures form the activities of modern economic geography and thus the study and research interests of our chair. In this process, regional, cross-border 'euregional' as well as global interactions are taken into consideration, especially in terms of the interplays of economic, social and political processes in space. Teaching, research and counselling offers for practical experience orient themselves at the international ‚state-of-the-art’ in the area of expertise.
